The seed of FSJ congregation was sown by Most Rev. Bishop. JOHN AELEN. His words “Missionary work consists greatly at the present day in setting up schools” were given life soon by Most Rev. Sisters of Franciscan sisters of St. Joseph (FSJ) congregation through the establishment of so many schools all over the India and world. Vimala Matric Hr. Sec. School. Thuraiyur is one of the prestigious schools among them.

The FSJ congregation serves to God by rendering selfless service to society in various forms like pastoral, Evangelisation, Education, Healing and social. All their activities are in relevant to the present social, economy, political and ecological situation of the society, Thus, they actualize the charism of the founder Bishop JOHN AELEN.
